A week to remember

On Monday, our adventure began – from Basel to Manchester, then by bus to the charmingly chaotic city of Liverpool. After checking in at the hotel, we ended our first evening in a relaxed (and definitely not sober) fashion. Tuesday kicked off with some culture: Rob, our cheerful tour guide with classic dry British humor, showed us around Liverpool’s main sights – including some impressive street art. In the evening, we continued our “unofficial training” at a local sports bar: Champions League and beer.

Wednesday was all about recovery – sleeping in! In the afternoon, the Mersey Tunnel Tour taught us that tunnels can actually be more interesting than they sound. That evening, once again, ended as expected – with Champions League and a cold pint. Thursday brought our sporty highlight: the legendary Anfield Stadium! Even the non-football fans were impressed. In the afternoon, we hopped on the Mersey Ferry and enjoyed a different perspective of the city from the water. The grand finale was dinner at “Bem Brasil”, where we bravely tackled an all-you-can-eat meat feast and then rolled back to the hotel with very full bellies.

Sadly, Friday meant saying goodbye. After breakfast, we packed our bags, grabbed a few last souvenirs in the city center, and began our journey back home together.

A huge thank you goes to our teachers Sabine Sinn and Thomas Schnell – for the excellent organization, steady nerves, and the perfect mix of culture, fun, and culinary highlights!
